The Vanoise National Park owns 16 shelters, which are staffed during the summer and some during the winter and spring. Outside of these periods, these buildings are in a restricted configuration, in "winter shelter" mode. You can sleep there and use the hotplates and the wood-burning stove.
National Park rangers regularly visit the refuges when they are no longer manned to check :
- The state of the refuge's gas and dry wood levels
- The proper functioning of the emergency beacon and electrical system.
They also take the opportunity to clear snow from the entrances and solar panels, if necessary.
Visitors are asked to make a financial contribution to enable us to continue providing wood and gas for the stoves and to maintain the building. Payment is made online and afterward, upon returning from the refuge:
On this payment platform, you can select the rate (adult/child), the shelter, and the dates. Creating your account and confirming your shopping cart will allow you to pay by credit card via the 3D Secure system (a secure payment protocol for online financial transactions).
You will receive a confirmation of your payment by email, and you will find the detailed invoice in your personal space, along with all your previous payments.

- Adult Overnight Rate: €12 including tax
- Youth* and Student Overnight Rate: €5 including tax

Good to know, this new online payment system does not allow you to reserve a refuge in advance of your stay…!
We therefore count on your civic-mindedness and your attachment to the mountains to remember to pay when you return from the huts. Your payment allows for the proper maintenance of the huts... and the possibility of spending more nights at the summit. Thank you!
