The refuge is located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, a perfect place to contemplate flora and fauna during your walk up to the refuge and whilst exploring the surrounding area. Flowers are constantly in bloom during the summer.  As soon as the winter snow disappears, spring sets in, with glittering flowers in the midst of butterflies. The beginning of autumn sees the blueberry bushes turn red, a sign that cold weather will soon set in.
