From La Gurraz
La Gurraz is a small village in the Haute Tarentaise valley, between Sainte Foy Tarentaise and Tignes.
Coming from Bourg St Maurice, after La Thuile de Sainte Foy, take a small road to the right towards La Gurraz and La Savinaz.
From the car park just outside the village of La Gurraz (1600m), head towards Cousset and Le Fenil, charming alpine hamlets (2110m), via a balcony path with a panorama that will help you forget the constant climb to the refuge.
The last part, after Cousset has a beautiful view of Mont Blanc and the border chain in the background.

From Villaroger
The village of Villaroger is located on the road to Tignes and Val d'Isère, when coming from Bourg St Maurice, near Sainte Foy Tarentaise.
In Sainte Foy Tarentaise, take the road to the right towards Villaroger, then left once in the village, towards Le Planay which has the information lodge (Maison de la reserve) of the “Hauts de Villaroger” nature reserve. From the car park of this information lodge (1300m), take the path that will go up towards Plan Bois, Le Crêt (1800m), charming alpine hamlets. Stay on the marked path, then, after the ridge, take the path signposted (1940m) up to the refuge, which you will see from afar.
You will walk past under the mountain l'Aiguille rouge, then under the north face of Mont Turia, before arriving at the refuge.

Time: 4h to 5h walk.


From Les arcs 2000
The resort of Les Arcs is located above Bourg St Maurice, and consists of Arcs 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000.
Park at the last hairpin bend (2110m) before arriving in Arc 2000. From there, take the path towards the Plan des Violettes (2165m). Walk to the top (chairlift), go down the track then fork to the right to arrive at an information panel on the Nature Reserve of the “Hauts de Villaroger”. A very beautiful balcony path will take you to the nature reserve, then, above the ridge, take the path on the right that goes up to the Turia refuge, which you will see from afar. You will walk past under the mountain l'Aiguille rouge, before leaving the reserve, then under the north face of Mont Turia, where you enter the Vanoise National Park.
Altitude gain: +750m.
